Bell, Boyd & Lloyd

Bell, Boyd & Lloyd was a prominent, well-connected Chicago law firm. As of March 1, 2009, Bell, Boyd, & Lloyd became K&L Gates. Former Chairman John T. "Jack" McCarthy is now a partner at the firm. McCarthy served as a law clerk for the Honorable John T. Dempsey of Illinois. Also, he is a member of the U.S.-Japan Business Council, serves on St. Joseph's College Board of Trustees, and is the State of Illinois Sports Facilities Authority Director. The current Chairman of K&L Gates is Peter Kalis.

Bell, Boyd & Lloyd is a career patron of former Governor George Ryan (R).

From 1993 to 2001, Bell, Boyd & Lloyd gave $374,600 to candidates for Illinois statewide constitutional and legislative office, 82% of which was contributed to Republicans.
