Citizens for Viverito is the political action committee of Louis Viverito, former Democratic State Senator for the 11th District. Viverito's Senate District included the House District represented by Speaker Michael J. Madigan. Viverito served in the state Senate since 1995, where he served as an assistant majority leader and sat on the following committees: Executive Appointments, Rules, Senate Committee of the Whole, and Higher Education. Prior to his legislative service, Viverito was President of the Stickney Township Public Health District.
Viverito retired from the state Senate in 2011 and supported Bridgeview mayor Steve Landek's appointment to his seat. Viverito remains Stickney Township supervisor, a job he has held for 35 years.
Citizens for Viverito is a career patron of Attorney General Lisa Madigan (D).
From January 1, 1993 through December 31, 2005, Citizens for Viverito contributed $199,000 to candidates for Illinois statewide constitutional and legislative office, all to Democrats.
