Household International

Household International is a consumer financial service that was acquired in March of 2003 by HSBC one of the top 10 financial services companies in the United States. Its businesses included consumer lending, mortgage services, direct lending, credit card services, auto finance, and insurance. It employed over 33,000 workers and had a net income of $1.6 billion for 2002. In 2009 HSBC announced the discontinuation of loan originations of all products by its consumer lending business, however they would continue their current profile until obligations were met.

Household International is a career patron of House Republican Leader Tom Cross (R).

From 1993 through June 30, 2003, Household International gave $961,500 to candidates for Illinois statewide constitutional and legislative office, 61% of which went to Republicans.
