J. Christopher Reyes owns Reyes Holdings, a Lake Forest-based food and beverage distributor. Reyes Holdings is the 20th largest privately held corporation in the country, and the largest privately held company in the Chicago area. Reyes Holdings owns several wholesale food and beer companies, including the Martin-Brower Company, which distributes supplies to McDonald's. Reyes Holdings also owns wholesalers Premium Distributors of Virginia, Chicago Beverage Systems, and California's Harbor Distributing. Chairman J. Christopher Reyes and VP David Reyes own the company, which has revenues of $3.85 billion. J. Christopher Reyes serves on the Boards of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Chicago, Children’s Memorial Medical Center, the Lyric Opera, the Museum of Science and Industry, and World Business Chicago. He served as an Independent Director of the Tribune Company from 2005-2007, and was Vice Chairman of Chicago 2016.

J. Christopher Reyes and Reyes Holdings are career patrons of former Lieutenant Governor Corinne Wood (R), and contributed $41,250 to her campaign committee as of December 31, 2001. Of that amount, Reyes Holdings contributed $16,000, and J. Christopher Reyes contributed $25,250.

From 1994 to 2008, Reyes Holdings gave $147,500 to candidates in Illinois. During that same time, J. Christopher Reyes gave $80,200 in personal contributions, mostly to the state and Lake County Republican Party committees.
