James McDonough is the head of McDonough & Associates, a Chicago-based engineering and archtectural firm. The firm specializes in roadway, transit, traffic, and site development projects. McDonough is professionally affiliated with the American Consulting Engineers Council, the Consulting Engineers Council of Illinois, the American Public Works Association, the American Public Transit Association and the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers. James McDonough headed Chicago’s Streets and Sanitation Department under the late Mayor Richard J. Daley. In the decades since then, McDonough and Associates has consistently been awarded city and state contracts, including $61 million in business from the city of Chicago between 2004 and 2009. McDonough & Associates is a long time insurance client of John Daley, Cook County Commissioner and younger brother of Chicago mayor Richard M. Daley.
James McDonough and McDonough & Associates are career patrons of Comptroller Daniel Hynes (D).
