Kotlarz, Joseph; Citizens for Kotlarz

Citizens for Joseph Kotlarz is the political action committee of former 35th ward Chicago Alderman and former Illinois State Representative Joseph Kotlarz. In 1997, Kotlarz was sentenced to six months in jail for taking $190,000 during an Illinois State Toll Highway Authority land deal in which he acted as real estate attorney for Waste Management Inc.

Citizens for Joseph Kotlarz is a career patron of unsuccessful gubernatorial candidate Roland Burris (D).

From 1993 to 2001, Citizens for Joseph Kotlarz gave $18,500 to candidates for Illinois statewide constitutional and legislative office, 93% of which was contributed to Democrats.
