Krasny, Michael

Michael Krasny is the founder and chairman emeritus of CDW Computer Centers, Inc., headquartered in Vernon Hills.  CDW supplies computer hardware, software, and accessories. A Fortune 500 company, CDW is the largest single source of revenue for Vernon Hills with sales tax revenues bringing in $5.3 million dollars since 1997. In 1998 Krasny launched CDW Government, Inc., which focuses on supplying computer goods to federal, state, and local government sectors. In 2000, the U.S. Department of the Treasury agreed to purchase all of its computer equipment from CDW.

Michael Krasny is now President of Sawdust Investment, a private investment management company which exclusively services its own investment portfolio.

From 1993 to June 30, 2002, Michael Krasny and James Shanks contributed $112,000 to candidates for Illinois statewide constitutional and legislative office, 90% of which went to Democrats.
