McMahon Food Corporation

The McMahon Food Corporation, located on Chicago's south side, distributes dairy products. For a time they were the chief supplier of half pint cartons of milk for the Chicago Public School System. Cook County records from 2005 and 2006 show that McMahon Food Corp received contracts from the county worth nearly $750,000 over that time period. Frank McMahon, president of the McMahon Food Corporation, is believed to be a cousin of DuPage County State's Attorney Joe Birkett. Frank McMahon’s daughter Mary is an assistant state’s attorney in Democrat Dick Devine’s office, and in 2008 she ran as a Republican candidate for Cook County State’s Attorney at the age of 28.

McMahon Food Corporation and Frank McMahon are career patrons of unsuccessful Attorney General candidate Joseph Birkett (R). Together, they contributed $36,000 to his campaign; Frank McMahon gave $13,500 of that amount.

From 1993 through June 2002, McMahon Food Corporation contributed $36,000 to Illinois legislative and statewide candidates, all of which went to Republicans. Since 2002, McMahon Food Corp has given a total of $132,390 to a variety of elected officials, both Democrat and Republican, which included $17,000 in contributions and loans to his son’s campaign fund. Since 2000, Frank McMahon has given $58,650 in personal contributions to a variety of candidates from both parties, as well as PACs.
