National Federation of Independent Business
The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) represents small and independent businesses. Founded in 1943, NFIB is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization with representation in Washington and all 50 state capitals. In Illinois, the NFIB has lobbied against Gov. Blagojevich’s Gross Receipts Tax proposal and universal health care plan. A 2011 focus for the NFIB is major worker's compensation reform.
From 1993 through December 31, 2006, the NFIB contributed $435,000 to Illinois statewide offices. 99% of these funds were contributed to Republicans.
