Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Inc.

Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Inc., is the world's largest voluntary reproductive health care organization. Based in New York City, it was founded by Margaret Sanger in 1916 as America's first birth control clinic. Cecile Richards currently serves as the president. Planned Parenthood supports access to abortion and lobbies for reproductive rights and access to reproductive health care. The Illinois Planned Parenthood Council (IPPC) is the statewide legislative and political office representing the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Inc.

Planned Parenthood is a career patron of Attorney General Lisa Madigan (D).

From 1993 through December 31, 2006, the IPPC contributed $398,00 to Illinois statewide offices. 98% of these funds were contributed to Democrats.
