Raceway Associates, LLC
Raceway Associates, LLC, developed Chicagoland Speedway in 1999, a 75,000-seat facility that hosts premier motorsports events. Raceway Associates is the owner and operator of the Chicagoland Speedway and the Route 66 Raceway motor sports complex, both located in Joliet, Illinois. Raceway Associates, LLC, is made up of the combined interests of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Corporation, the International Speedway Corporation, and the founding owners of the Route 66 Raceway, LLC. In 2007 Raceway Associates, LLC was bought by International Speedway Corporation (ISC), a promoter of motorsports activities which owns or operates a dozen of the nation’s major motorsports entertainment facilities. ISC also owns and operates MRN Radio, the nation’s largest independent sports radio network.
Raceway Associates is a career patron of House Republican Leader Tom Cross.
From 1993 through June 30, 2007, Raceway Associates gave $440,000 to Illinois statewide offices. 69% of these funds were contributed to Republicans.
